Does take a bit of work but hopefully it's worth it. I also added in the the outside of the plastic bins.

That's next weekend my back is not enjoying this.It definitely helps, sure won't hurt. Biggest improvement was on the inside of the doors, got rid of that hollow tinny sound.
I understand that. That's next weekend my back is not enjoying this.![]()
At 71 years of age, I knew my back would not enjoy it either. So I took it to an auto audio shop and let the young backs do the front doors for me.That's next weekend my back is not enjoying this.![]()
Sounds like a good plan.At 71 years of age, I knew my back would not enjoy it either. So I took it to an auto audio shop and let the young backs do the front doors for me.
Now when I close the doors, the tincan sound is gone.
I don't notice that with mine. That'd be frustrating. It's nice to not have any interior vibrations I know...
Only spots I get any vibrations from is the undercarriage shields. I would love to know the proper size of the crummy hollow sheet metal nuts Ford puts on so I could replace them with a real washer and nut to rid the undercarriage vibration from the shields
Turn the volume up step out of the vehicle with the doors closed, that's only when I hear it. I believe it's all the thin metal heat shields near the exhaust. I just don't know what size those thin cheap nuts are Ford uses to hold on the shields.I don't notice that with mine. That'd be frustrating.
I'll check it out.Turn the volume up step out of the vehicle with the doors closed, that's only when I hear it. I believe it's all the thin metal heat shields near the exhaust. I just don't know what size those thin cheap nuts are Ford uses to hold on the shields.
Todd, you weren't kidding about doing the doors. Made a world of difference to the way the doors sound when opening and closing but also road noise is knocked down while driving. It just seems like a tighter vehicle. I also did the door panel. It definitely helps, sure won't hurt. Biggest improvement was on the inside of the doors, got rid of that hollow tinny sound.
Yes, makes a big difference imo. Was 60.00 well spent.Todd, you weren't kidding about doing the doors. Made a world of difference to the way the doors sound when opening and closing but also road noise is knocked down while driving. It just seems like a tighter vehicle. I also did the door panel.

Doing the back cab wall made such a big difference for me, probably the most noticeable.Man I can't believe the difference this made in the way the subs sound. Tighter and cleaner. Can't wait to get the doors and back wall done.
