As far as I can tell, the 2025 Maverick hybrid AWD drivetrain is largely (entirely?) shared with the Escape, which has had this configuration available for a few years now. Yet, I cannot find any decent/journalist reviews of this drivetrain, even though it appears to have been available in the Escape for some time now. Has anyone come across this content, or are the drivetrains between the '25 Maverick and current gen Escape significantly different? I'm mainly interested in how the hybrid CVT setup performs in snow. Not interested in 2.0T reviews.

I should be able to tell you in a few days after the snowstorm hits the midwest on Sunday. My truck came with the Goodyear Territory HT tires and I will get a first hand experience in how they handle.

Did you get out to test it yet?

I did! And I'm happy to report that the Goodyears did great considering the conditions! It could be that they are brand new though. We ended up getting about .25-.5" layer of ice on the roads and then topped with 10-15" of snow. Most of the highways were shut down (which never happens in KC) and it was probably not the best time to be out testing, but taking it slow and goosing it in safer (flat) areas I felt confident with the grip and AWDs reaction. When on pure snow the system did not want fishtail at all and kept me going straight and forward which is all I can ask. I will run these until it's time to replace instead of picking up something a little better now.

I'm in Wichita and we got it very mild compared to most of the rest of the state, including KC area. Only 4" here and the sleet before it was largely ineffective because it stayed at or slightly above freezing a long time on Saturday. At any rate, yes, you definitely put your new Mav through some strenuous testing. Did you have to climb any fairly steep hills yet? Curious how that worked for you, if so.

Oh - one other thing. What model of Goodyear tire do you have? I know it's a 225/55-19 and people have said Goodyear Territory but there are several tires under the Territory family. is it a Territory HT like this? Wrangler Territory® HT Tires | Goodyear Tires

I wasn’t brave enough to really test it in those conditions with only 150 miles on the odometer haha! I played it safe and only pushed it a little more when there were no hazards to slide into or off of.

Yes, they are the Territory HT but the tread pattern is slightly different than your photo. Slightly more aggressive looking which I was happy to see.

thanks for the awesome pic. I believe this is a new tire on the '25 Maverick Lariat, Lobo and black appearance package. your pic does show different tread, particularly the shoulder blocks are larger with larger horizontal channels, and it has light tread features on the sidewall/shoulder edge which is kind of surprising on an all-season. (this is pretty commonly seen on an all-terrain tire.)

I'm curious to see close up pics of the '25 Tremor tire, also. it could be new, or if not my guess is that it's the Workhorse AT: Wrangler® Workhorse® AT Tires | Goodyear Tires
