I figured I would share this in case it helps others. I installed bike binderz for hauling my dirt bike on my maverick. It appears to work and could support two bikes but it is tight. The install went fairly well. A couple of notes
  1. You do have to remove the funky plastic cover on the passenger side for the outboard plate
  2. You are most likely going to have to choose the exact spots I used. The reason for this is there is a lot of stuff and frame rails in the way of drilling holes that can be accessed from underneath the truck
  3. The outboard binder gets really close to the vertical bed frame rail. I would just kick the rear tire over a bit to the center to prevent contact. I would not install the plate more inboard as you will not get two bikes in if you do
  4. The outboard binder has more angle than I like but moving it in board one space places it above the frame rail which makes underside access impossible
  5. I would drop the spare tire before lowering the tail gate and putting a bike in for test fit. I found this out the hard way and loaded/unloaded the bike several times
  6. I originally wanted to put the tie down points in the valleys of the corrugated bed floor so the top of the bed floor was smooth but this is not possible as the valleys are not wide enough
  7. I would recommend fabbing a backing plate for the underside of the tie downs. I wanted to use that on the outboard but there was no room
  8. I would also recommend deburring, painting, and sealing the holes with rtv during the install to prevent rust
  9. A strong magnet on the top side (where you want the mount) is useful because you can find the spot underneath by sweeping a nut across the underside until it sticks. This really helped me nail down the mounting points which where definitely not where my initial ideas or intuition was leading me -> AKA measure twice drill once
Hope this helps others. Overall I like the bike binderez a lot

Nice work. But it seems overkill in order to put two bikes in the bed. Couldn’t you have run a bar from the front tiedowns across with eyebolts through there and then you could’ve put your tiedowns to that? And the rears could be secured from existing tiedowns in the rear of the truck Just seems easier to me.

I think you are describing just using standard tie downs to hold the bike down and maybe adding front bar tie down? I have done this many times but with two bikes the front always ends up a complicated maze of straps and the angles the straps are at are really high aka strap going almost straight down. This is especially true with the Mavericks narrow bed. Also the rear does not have a center anchor so with two bikes the rear inner tie down straps would have to go through the other bikes rear wheel to reach the bed anchor point?

I was really surprised how well a bike is held in the bed when tied down by the foot pegs. Whether you use bike binderz or not I am a convert to strapping by the foot pegs now

Well, I’m glad that works for you. I don’t have motorcycles anymore. I only have an ATV that fits in their perfectly and straps down just right so easy I love it.

Not my area at all but just seems like something you’d either use a trailer for, or a traditional ladder frame truck with a larger bed.

Yes, but both of those things are real negatives for me. Trailering is a PITA, kills mileage, and requires slower speeds and more careful driving and parking. Also I specifically chose the hybrid maverick because I want a way to transport up to 2 dirt bikes with no trailer and greater than 30 mpgs. That really narrows down the field to chose from

I appreciate your info and like your installation. I've been around/doing motorcycles most of my life and. somehow. have never heard of these Bike Binderz. Looks like a pretty decent and innovative system. I'm not very likely to put my heavy old '75 BMW R90/6 into the back of the Mav, but I'd certainly be giving this system a much closer look if I were.

No problem. There are quite a few tie down solutions moto cinch, AKT Fat straps, green chile tie downs. You could also get the adventure version for the R90. User preference is definitely in play here. For me the binderz are expensive but time adds up and the damage to your truck bed is worse (more $$) if your strap fails.

My only recs are that tieing down by the foot peg is really sturdy and to avoid the risk racing lock n load as it over constrains the bike and fails easily on rough roads
