Power Points in XL Truck Bed

I added two power points into the rear of my 2024 XL Maverick.

The plugs I bought from Amazon. I used the 12 V cable that came with the truck and bought a second one from the dealer ($30.00 ouch).

The housing I created using AutoCAD Fusion 360 and printed them out on a 3D printer.

I can charge my tablets, phones and even plug in my laptop. The power stays on about 30 minutes after I turn the truck off.

Very nice! I like this option a lot more than drilling a hole in the cubby cover.

Nice work on making the custom mounting plate!

Another option for those who can’t make a plate is to use an existing 1”/26mm hole higher up to mount a socket or outlet. The example below shows an SA-20 aviation socket connected using the factory supplied pigtail.

I agree with you. That is what inspired me to create these plugs. Oner other thing I like I can plub in a 110V adapter into the 12V plug.

Very nice. I put mine inside the cubby in the bed. I was afraid mounting it to the cubby door could be problematic when removing the door. You could probably sell those 3D printed housings.

I found this file on printables. It could be modified pretty easily to use the same round USB plugs!

Something to keep in mind the locking nut for the plugs is to big to fit straight into the opening. You have angle it to get it in. That is why I offset the location of locking nut.

Are the 2 Flexbed 12v wires live all the time or based on ignition switch position?

Yes but power last 30ish minutes after I turn the key off.
