Well I just sold my 2018 Rav4 to Vroom and retained 86% after 5 years. I'll take that any day

Let's see, paid MSRP for my XLT, was offered 31K, that is a bit more than what was published.

Carvana's offer for my 2017 C-Max hybrid this week is 70.65% of what it cost me (offer is $19077). I believe my Hybrid Lariat BAP will be more than the 61% they are predicting, but I have ZERO plans to let this beauty go!

This is looking 5 years down the road where they are assuming supply chain issues are gone and dealers are no longer begging for your used vehicle, but instead begging you to take 5k off MSRP

I think it is their wishful thinking that the supply will reach demand. They have a lot of pent up demand. At the end of the 2023 Maverick MY, there is still gonna be a lot of demand (especially Hybrid), and likely enough to sustain the value for several more years. Maybe if interest rates keep climbing, but I doubt it.

Seems 61% is crazy in the wrong way. Just sold my 2022 XLT EB for $3K OVER MSRP to a dealer after I had it 5 months. Only reason for selling it is that my Lariat Hybrid should be here within 2 weeks.

Yesterday, just out of curiosity I did my 1st ever on-line kbb valuation check on my 2022 Maverick since I'm open to the possibility of trading it back to my dealer if the new 6G Ranger is a better long term fit for me. My Maverick is 2.0 Eco, AWD, 4k tow with aftermarket Bedliner and floor mats. 250 miles from New since I have a better Winter DD in use until Spring. Kbb Trade In value was $31,200. I paid a little over $26 OTD back in November 2022.

I'm not convinced valuation for Maverick will drop much if any at least through end of MY 2023 production run with still limited supply far below demand.

geez no santa cruz in the list? lol
I'm seeing them advertised for MSRP and below MSRP. Not a bad looking ute but not as functional as the maverick when it come to the bed.

I probably would have had a couple Toyotas by now, but every single Toyota dealership I have ever entered has been the epitome of high pressure and skeeziness.

But the worst example I have experienced was at a Honda dealer. I drove into the lot for the first time ever, and I saw a group of salesmen standing around. This one clown sees me open my car door and says "Hey! You decided to come back" so he could pretend I was his sale and jump ahead of the other salesmen who were waiting in turn for new customers. I got back in the car and left, after yelling "I've never been here before." Hope the other salesmen dealt with his scheming ass.

Yeah, the whole car dealership model is so flawed. They train these salespeople to be sociopaths, unfortunately. Over a decade I tried to work at one and the culture was terrible with salespeople bragging about bopping people over the head on price. It's a eat what you kill environment and not good for the consumer. It's a shame you even have to deal with that as a buyer and essentially train yourself to block all their crap tactics they deploy to buy a car.
