Maverick in Velocity Blue with SnugTop bed cap ... rear visibility not great (feedback review)

I'll have to update with a picture of the tailgate, I got the black lettering in the stamped tailgate and it looks great but I was in a rush when I picked it up so this is what I have for pictures so far. I got the tailgate assist installed as well and I'm glad I did.

If you are looking to get the cap, they can order them despite the website listing them as unavailable. One thing to note the rear visibility out of the cap is quite simply TERRIBLE. The view towards the bottom is blocked and the result is there is a very narrow bar of view out the back. Also the window on the cap doesn't open so that nice powered window in the back is fun but useless. I'm personally cool with both but the amount of rear visibility was shocking coming from a F-150 with a regular sized cap.

Bummer about the visibility, but I've always assumed these caps made rear visibility a nightmare on any truck. I say that with next to zero experience with them though. The paint and overall shape look pretty good. Are these things challenging to remove and reinstall if you wanted greater access to your bed? How heavy are they?

Honestly no idea how heavy it is or how the install was. Dealer installed it for me before I picked it up. I'm used to trucks with caps but this has a very small slit to see out of. I'll get some pictures in an hour or so.

Could you post this same view but with the rear hatch open? I'm curious how much is the hatch window, vs where the tailgate is.

So the biggest problem is that the window at the front of the cap is tiny like maybe 7 in tall and it doesn't extend down far enough so you get a really big lip at the bottom of that where you can't see through it the rear glass is also pretty small it's maybe 8 in tall total

How does one find this topper.? Cost? I like it and used to decades of reduce rear view mirror usability...just scan side mirrors more

Thanks! Looks like they got fancy, and added a hinge & latches to that window at the front of the cap so it can drop down?? I miss the days were there would just be a rubber seal between the cap & cab.

Wowsers! I was thinking about those some day, but that's pretty bad.

You could get creative and rig up another camera in back that's always on.

If you wait for Leer to have a truck cap for the Maverick, they'll probably have an option for a front opening window.

You sure about that? What are these latches I've circled for? Yes, maybe it doesn't have a side to side slider, but it looks like there's the possibility to drop the window down, so things could extend into the cab.
