Hi-

I'm getting ready to upgrade my door speakers...

Maybe the tweeters?

Just for fun, what kind of package would you recommend? I've been looking at all the options over at crutchfield-

I'm pretty budget minded, but might be able to throw in extra for an amp...

Aftermarket speakers are built with a massive magnet, hence requiring a lot of power to move the cone. I would highly recommend amplifying the speakers so you can appreciate the best possible sound. The manufacturer usually provides a recommended power range for optimal performance. The factory system puts out roughly 7 watts meaning aftermarket speakers will be under driven. If your truck came with the B&O system, a speaker swap will not help until you bypass the system using a NavTV or PAC unit.
I'll send you a DM so we may discuss further.

Any plug-n-play upgrades for non-BO systems?

There are plug and play kits already on the market for the B&O so my custom harnesses are not required if those were the questions. The kits that work for the B&O are the NavTV Zen and PAC units. I sell both. Those are the bypass units you'll need for a clean signal to the amplifiers. I do not sell prefab amp racks with everything tuned and mounted. There are other vendors that do this. I have my reasons for not offering this service.

Never got a dm-

Does "Hush car audio" have a website???

Are they selling electronics or just giving advise???
I no longer maintain a website as it was too much work for this one man show. I sell electronics and build custom wiring harnesses for people. I've been an audio vendor on multiple forum for many years now. I'm happy to offer what I've learned over the years to people on the forum. Please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I've tried now a couple of times to message you here on the forum but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll be happy to help.

Looking at installing a 5 channel amp in my hybrid but I'm limited in output, per Crutchfield. I know some people have ignored this advice and placed larger amps in their hybrids, but I'm curious to hear peoples experiences of putting amps in their hybrids.

Unfortunately I haven't had any experience with the hybrid system yet.

Pretty much any aftermarket setup will sound significantly improved over the B&O system with ease.

really?
i have the B&O sound system and have been happy with it so far. i am no audiophile but i was under the impression that this was a above average sound system as implemented in our Mav's.
after all , after market isnt always synonymous with 'better' is it?
admittedly i dont have a lot of expertise in this area but i have no complaints with the B&O sound system so far.
perhaps this is a case of 'not knowing what i'm missing'?
of course i'm aware that there are more high performance speakers ; amps and such out there but its not worth the extra $$ and installation hassles for me at this point.
to each their own.
