Hey all,
New here, but not to forums in general. My name is Darcy, and I ordered a Black 2023 Maverick XLT 2.0 AWD with some extras a couple weeks ago, and figured I'd post an introduction here. Glad to have found a good community resource for any questions or concerns. I fully expect to be waiting a while.
I currently drive a 1997 Toyota Aristo (twin turbo variant) in the summer, and a 2008 Honda Pilot SE AWD in the winter (and to work in the summer, I work at a scrap yard so there's tons of nails and debris on the way in). The Pilot is approaching 400 000 km, and getting dismal fuel mileage despite maintaining the vehicle and servicing it as required. I won't go through the whole list, but I've changed everything on that car and tried many options to get a better fuel rating. Currently achieving 21 L/100km which is insanity. Given, the roof basket doesn't help, but it's a lot. Steering rack needs replacement now, and that's where I drew the line.
SO, my daily/winter car will be the Maverick. I have a 1600 lb pop up camper to tow in summer, lots of cabin trips to the family cabin, and tons of snow to deal with in the winter. I was looking at used vehicles that can tow, and surprisingly the Maverick brand new came up cheaper than a lot of the options I was looking at. I got the 4k tow package to future proof since I plan on owning this Maverick for a LONG time to come.
I went to a local dealer to check out a Maverick in person, test the car seat fitment, etc and ended up really liking it. So, I await for it's arrival, then I will sell my Pilot and throw that money at the car loan, and go from there.
Options:
- 2023 XLT Luxury Package
- 4k Tow
- Splash Guards
- Side Window Deflectors (All my cars have it so may as well)
- Tri-Fold Hard Tonneau Cover
- Floor Liners w/ Mats
- Sunroof
- Spray in liner (done at dealer)
- Bed Tie Downs with Locking Bars (Since this isn't in the 23 Luxury package, or at least in my area it's not)
Looking forward to contributing, and more so when I get my Ford. All the best,
Darcy
