OK, so now I am a little concerned about lifting my Maverick, given what I have read about the change in camber etc and the extra wear it causes. So a couple of questions.

1) Will a 1.5" lift do more damage than a 2" or would it be an insignificant difference between the 2
2) Do I really need to be this concerned if all I want is to create a more aggressive look, i.e. will not be towing anything, hauling anything, and definitely not off-roading.

Can one add lift using only tires. If so, I have follow up questions:

1) Will it cause the same issues as a proper lift?
2) If I get the 17" FX4 wheels, what would be the biggest tire I could put on it? I am such a newb that I don't even know what the size and tire ratio actually do. Can someone perhaps tell me what the 17" size/ratio numbers would be for a tire that would add the most width and height, but still fit on those rims.
3) Lets assume that I need to get bigger wheels. We know Mr Boom added 20" wheels. So lets say those are the max size you can put on. What size/ratio can one put on the 20" wheels, that would NOT require a lift.

I know that some of you all are shaking your heads at these questions, but just trying to learn.

Thanks in advance.

Bigger tires shouldn't change camber. Taller lift = more camber change and more strain on the suspension.

245/65 seems to be the biggest you can do without having to trim anything.

Use this link and play around. It's the overall diameter that is the issue. You can use any size rim you want but will need to change the ratios to stay the same diameter.

Be advised that mods like lifts and oversized tires will give Ford an excuse not to cover stuff under warranty. Oversized tires are specifically mentioned in the warranty materials.

If you haven't seen one in person, try to do so. The stock 225s still look pretty good. 235/65 is the only other size in spec for the 17" rims.
