Hi all,

I have been thinking about posting about how much I’ve been liking my maverick for a while now but wanted to wait until 10k miles rather than jump the gun.

First off, the truck is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned in terms of just overall ride quality. It is also the first brand new vehicle I have purchased. What a treat to drive. I came from a 2015 Tacoma with a stick shift and I don’t miss it all except not worrying about scratching it lol.

The Maverick has given me zero problems so far. Knock on wood. It was driven all winter in sub zero weather and snow, over twenty trips to ski resorts. Now in the spring it is had been going fully loaded with camping gear, my family of three plus 2 full size dogs and 3 bikes on camping trips.

Just finished up a 7 hour drive from Md to Ohio and 7 hours back hauling ass on the turnpike and crawling up steep gravel roads to our cabin.

Let’s just say I hope this bad boy keeps running like this and I can keep it for a long time!

Good to hear! We have a 2026 same model that we're driving cross country. So far, I love everything about it, and enjoy learning about the powertrain. My last car was a 2015 VW GTI that we bought new. I really miss it, but really like the versatility of the pickup. Wish that the bed was a little longer though.

Ha I wish, just a vacation rental!
I too have a 25 AWD Hybrid XLT but no 4k and it just turned (1) a few days ago and also has 10K miles on it. I love it so far except I have the dreaded 13mph thunk (or clunk or thud) which happens like clockwork every time I slow down. Just curious if you happen to have this issue as well? If your not familiar some of the AWD Mavericks (both Ecoboost and Hybrids) make a thunking or clunking noise that comes from the rear of the truck when slowing down and you cross the 13mph threshold.

The noise is from the AWD system engaging as you slow down so when you accelerate after that you will be doing so in AWD. You may already know how the AWD system works on the Maverick but I figured I would ask you about the 13mph thunk issue. I bought my truck brand new and it didn't make the thunk or clunk noise until it had around 4K miles on it. The interesting thing is that if you turn off the traction control the noise magically disappears and also the noise doesn't happen if you switch to sports mode either. Also if it's cold outside (say under 40 degrees or so) the noise doesn't happen either. It seems as though around 1 out of 3 AWD Maverick owners have the thunk noise per a poll I put together but the sample size is low. Anyway just curious if you have the noise or not and I will list some threads on the noise should you wish to read up on it:)

Also here's a handy video that Maverick Truck Club member @MarkLally and his wife put together on how the AWD system on the Maverick actually works in case you haven't seen it:

No such problems thus far. I was concerned getting my first hybrid that it would be clunky but honestly to me it accelerates and decelerates much smoother than a lot of traditional
Gas automatics I have driven.

That said I will be wary of this happening in the future.

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy reading positive owner reviews because a lot of posts tend to be someone having a problem and then disappearing without an update.

Wish that the bed was a little longer though.
I was on Super Duty forums and folks would talk about upgrading from an F250 with an 8' bed to an F-450 C&C 203" WB so they can put on a 12-foot flatbed.

I ran into my first issue with a short bed when I put my EZ-UP in my Nissan Frontier. The usable bed length is 57 inches, and my EZ-UP is 59 inches tall when in its bag. It'll obviously fit diagonally, but then it breaks the floor space into two triangles around it and makes it very space-inefficient to pack the rest of the gear.
