Unfortunately, I don’t see any indication that the light bar is road legal. Also wish that you could control the flood/spot lights separately. I have the JJC brackets, but still looking for a cleaner fog light install on my FX4.
Yeah that was one thing I noticed too. You actually can wire/control the flood and spot sections separately if you want to. I just combined mine because realistically I never run only one pattern by itself anyway, so for my setup it made more sense having everything come on together.

As for legality, I basically treat it the same way most people treat auxiliary off-road/driving lights — mainly for mountain roads, camping trips, trails, dark backroads, etc. Definitely not something I’m blasting at traffic 😂

Honestly though for the FX4 specifically, I think you’re in a really good spot because the tow hook openings make installs way easier than on my truck. I could definitely see a cleaner fog setup paired with something like this working really well.

Wow this is perfect, thank you for posting! I was just looking for some ditch/offroard lights (mountain snow driving).

Did you consider the fog lights like these at all?

Honestly yeah I did look at a few fog light style kits before this. Those definitely look solid, especially if you want a more OEM fog-light style setup.

For me though, one of the biggest reasons I keep going back to F150LEDs is reliability. I’ve had a bunch of their lighting on my Maverick for a while now and everything has just consistently worked. Good fitment, solid hardware, no weird issues, and all the products actually work together instead of feeling pieced together from random universal parts.

The wireless setup on this bar was honestly one of my favorite parts too. I routed the wiring through the fender liner area so basically nothing had to run through the grille itself which made the install come out super clean.

And honestly I’d rather do a one-time payment on quality lighting than keep replacing cheaper lights later. Especially for mountain/snow driving where you actually depend on them, reliability matters way more to me than just chasing the cheapest option.

When you say "cleaner" install, do you mean an install that doesn't require modification? My JJCs look very clean after the install, and have the advantage of more aim-ability and rigid mounting to the chassis that I haven't seen in any other bumper light setup. That with the reliability of DD SS3's is a great combination.

I just realized that @mstrbill might be talking about the JJC brackets for mounting lights above the front bumper, and not the fog light cut-out style JJCs that I have and are pictured above... They're more of a grille-mount setup.

yes, I have both. I figured that since the front end has to come off for both, I would install both and figure which one would work best for fog lights . Then possibly use the other for driving lights. I guess I am not as adventurous as I used to be, taking apart a basically new truck seems a little daunting.

Yeah, I get it.

I'll warn you now... I had to pull mine apart probably 4 times (partially) before I got those SS3s aimed right. But, it was worth it in the end.

Great write up. I've been thinking of installing an LED lightbar in my grill because I find the stock halogen lights on the XLT to be lacking and the install process for the Form LED projectors seems like a PITA. I figure a lightbar would be easier to install and give me that extra kick for when I'm driving out on rural country roads at night.

Yea definitely check them out. Honestly one of the easiest lighting installs I’ve done on the Maverick. No running wires through the firewall or dealing with a bunch of complicated routing.

That was one of the big reasons I went with F150LEDs too. American made, American support, and the quality actually feels solid instead of some random drop-shipped Chinese kit with zero support if something goes wrong later.

You don't actually believe this, right?

It looks like a Chinese import that sells for $30 (at MOQ 10).

And this looks like their "Paladin MKII" lol.
Honestly fair question — I probably should’ve worded that better.

What I mainly meant was that they’re an American company with American-based support/customer service, which has honestly been a big deal for me compared to a lot of random lighting brands out there. Every time I’ve dealt with them they’ve actually responded, helped troubleshoot, and stood behind the products.

As far as the actual manufacturing side, I don’t know 100% where every individual component is physically produced, so I don’t want to falsely claim something is fully USA-manufactured if I can’t verify it. Appreciate you calling that out.
