Just put the maintenance payment in your personal bank account to cover repairs if an as needed. No hidden items not covered and it's your money to spend or save long-term. I never buy extended warranties on anything and over 40 years I am way ahead.

I used to be in the "never get an extended warranty" camp and have always done my own maintenance and repairs when possible. When we picked up our 25 Mav Lariat (from Granger) I also opted for the 10yr/100K/0 deduct + lighting rider. The truck compliments our EV so it sits in the garage most days waiting for road trips and/or truck stuff. 10/100K is plenty for us.

I consider the extended warranty a low risk (known cost up front) and potentially high reward. It's all the connected high technology in the Maverick along with the trick transmission and AWD that far exceed my basic shadetree mechanic skills. that scare me. With the zero deductible I feel I'm more likely to take the truck in for even minor issues, keeping it minty-fresh.

Winds up the warranty cost is the same regardless of trim so the Lariats and up (with more tech stuff to go wrong) tend to be the better deals.

Since the official FORD extended service warranty starts on the original vehicle date of sale, there's no advantage on waiting as the cost for the warranty will keep going up every year but the end date will not. I like the peace of mind and think of it as pre-paying for repairs using todays' dollars. Who knows how much labor and parts will go up over the next 10 years? An AC compressor repair that cost $800 today might be $1200 in a few years .

Granger offered the warranty at a great price, and I was able to offset it with my FORD points, so that helped too. Like it so much we also got one for my daughter's ESCAPE PHEV.
