Whole Sync touchscreen turned itself off on its own while driving

I see there have been other touchscreen issues but not sure if this is same or different issue

Driving happily down the interstate on Saturday dodging the morons, when the whole screen switched off. No one touched it, nothing else was acting up ...

Turned it back on and it seems to be working ok again, but does this sound like the beginning of touchscreen issues?

It doesn't sound concerning to me. It happens. There is a lot of software involved, so it is bound to freeze or crash sometimes. Half the time I can't get my radio to change sources for the first minute or two of my drive. Not the most ideal, but it is fine.

Ours did this and a few other things. When we took it in for it the shop ran a diagnostics and it failed, so they put a new one in.

If that happens, you might want to just reboot the Infotainment System. If it keeps happening and you're under warranty, take it in, like PNWMaverick did.

I had all kinds of problems with my radio but a nearby Ford dealer reprogrammed the system and it fixed all the issues. This is not something you can do yourself.

i think this is normal lol, albiet, not. hopefully Ford allows for an upgrade to this as the current interface sucks

I doubt it but considering this group, I wouldn't be surprised if someone created something that worked better from scratch.

My Ford told me to do a screen reset, they couldn't diagnose since they couldn't get the issue to recreate.

Sykora Family Ford in West, TX did not try to recreate the problem they just removed the old firmware and installed new. Problem fixed. Sometimes in the computer world an intermittant problem can be hard to find so best just remove old software and load new.
