Who gets paid for safety recall jobs

So,does the mechanic doing recall work do they get the same pay as they would for doing none recall work.i haven’t had some of the recalls done yet on my 2024 i really don’t care to do some of them. But if the mechanic gets his regular pay might would do the rest of the recalls.

They get paid the same for all work. Dealers mechanics are paid hourly rates not piece work. Ford Corporate reimburses the dealership for recall work done. Probably agreed upon flat rate.

That is factually true but and this is a big but that almost recall work is flat rate and for the mechanic it is a big screw job. If a recall item like replacing a line or something is flat rated for two hours the vehicle manufacturer will do a flat rate for a hour or hour and half as the manufacturer will think of it on the assembly line and without obstacles that installed burying the part. On the computer reprogramming it is like like .5 hour even if it takes 2 hours and the mechanic can not leave as they have to answer prompts as it progresses
