Your excuses not to make and market a Hybrid AWD Maverick don't hold water.AWD will decrease the fuel efficiency and make the vehicle cost more to produce and cost more for the customer. Also, an AWD hybrid maverick might cut into the sales of the Ford F150 Hybrid. I wish it was offered too...
A PHEV wouldn't necessarily need a charger installed at home. I imagine it would depend on the size of the battery and it's charging rate though.I believe it's coming soon. PHEV with the price increase for a new model year and already a 1500 price increase on the 2024 hybrid, I ordered a 2024 ecoboost. To be frank having a hybrid vs ecoboost because of majority 2 lane hwy I drive it makes it an easy decision. Add the increase cost to purchase the option increase cost to have a EV charging station at home cost and not a significant difference in mileage and electric costs as well and even moreso in rural areas.
Now if my driving was mostly city or even example delivering mail (rural postal worker) the PHEV maybe an option. In my case it wouldn't pay to even consider it. For those that the PHEV would pay for itself, or city driving, I hope it's available sooner than later.
Also, I would like to know how long some people with a plug-in hybrid takes to charge it normally. I don't think you necessarily need a level 2 charger. Nice 20 amp extension cord might do the trick for most daily drivingSo many odd answers here.
If FORD puts out an AWD Hybrid Maverick it will cut into their Ranger and F150 sales more than the current Maverick already does.
I wouldn't hold your breath for that option even on the next model.
And I agree about PHEV's... pay outrageously more for the vehicle to save very little in fuel costs? Makes no sense to me. You'd also need the charging at home which would increase your electrical bill. Now if they were the same cost or cheaper than the alternative, yes, it would make sense. Currently though? Still a hard pass for the majority of people same as EV's.
Question for the owners of PHEV's on this forum: How much more did your vehicle cost compared to the normal Hybrid models? Do you save that much by owning one and if so, how long before you can generate the return after purchase (including the added cost for the home charger etc etc)?
Unless your electricity is outrageously expensive, every dollar you spend on electricity charging. It will probably save you at least $3 to $4 on gasSo many odd answers here.

Yea it would just cut into their other sales and they know it. Then everything would need to be AWD Hybrid. But it's what the market is asking for. Honestly why I'm so interested in the new Camry's too. They are finally AWD and Hybrid and they tick almost every single box for a commuter I could ever ask for. If Honda did it with the Civic I'd be all over it. Drop my need for a truck like a bad habit and buy something older as a secondary for the rare occasion I do truck stuff anymore. The maverick is already selling so well and there are no direct competitors in the market.
I personally wouldn't do it yet if I was Ford. I'd just do a small refresh for MY25, and then consider an AWD Hybrid in MY27.
Even at that, I like the way Toyota did it in the Camry with a small motor driving the rear wheels, it'll add minimal complexity and weight, but still get the job done.

Not mad at you, and Ford will likely offer it in the Future. Can't do everything at once, there are budgets and financial goals. I have read that you can put anywhere from 3 to 5 mi an hour with a regular 120 volt plug. That's not a lot but if your PHEV only has 40 miles of electric range that's 10 hours to fully charge it from dead. Seeing as you also have gas if needed that's not a big deal in my opinion. On a 30 amp 240 VAC "electric dryer" socket you can put in 25 miles per hour.
On a 50 amp (RV or Oven socket) you can put in about 48 miles per hour.
At the moment you are correct they're selling everyone they can make but things change and it takes a while to pull up. It's like the same thinking the big three usually have and why they get taken to the cleaners often in market segments other than the ones protected by the government which would be the full size pickup truck market. It's not as simple as you make it out. Not everyone needs AWD but they would like it I would like it and I would like to have the mileage of the hybrid and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Also I would really like to have the fully independent rear suspension of AWD rather than that pipe connecting the wheels in the back of the hybrid......Great idea if Ford wants to lose money. I guess none of you realize that extra options would cause the initial price of the Maverick to rise. The people that wanted or needed the AWD got the ecoboost with AWD. The people who wanted a truck with great gas mileage got the FWD Hybrid. Would it be awesome if they offered a Hybrid AWD Version?.. Yes..

No offense, but you seem like the only one out here who's angry about it. AWD if it drops mileage at all, it'll be minimal. Toyota, Honda, etc. All offer hybrids with AWD. But the thing is right now with the Maverick. You either have to choose AWD with IRS ( personally, I would really like that for a better ride in handling, as long as you're buying a car in truck drag I wanted to drive like a car) with mileage in the low 20s for suburban driving or you got to pick a hybrid with mileage in the low 40s but with a 2x4 for for a rear axle...... It's not anger, it's just a desire for that vehicle. Either one I get is going to be a pretty big compromise on my end. I'm either going to get crappier mileage but more power and better ride/ handling or vice versa.I swear people want someone to be mad at! ANYONE! WHY DOESNT FORD OFFER A HYBRID AWD?? RAGHHGHHHHHHHHG! Why would it cost 10,000 more when they already have AWD hybrids on the same unit body that they build the Maverick on? Ford charges? What $2,200 for the AWD option on the EB so why would it be 10,000 more? Again it's not 1952 so Ford isn't the only game in town, maybe with the mini truck they are for now.
