What is a Priority Number?

What is the “priority number” that I see occasionally referenced here and on other threads? Thanks!

It's a priority number attached to your order. Most start at 19. The lowest the dealer can assign is 10. Ford will switch it to a 2 when your order is being looked at to be selected for production. There is a lot of speculation as to exactly what it does for you, but lower is generally considered to be better. Mine started at 10, last I checked it was 17. Don't worry, be happy.

I started at a 10 November 3rd and I'm still a 10 today. Means nothing.
