What does Intersection Assist do?

What does intersection assist do exactly? Also, is that officially coming on some maverick trims? It said TBD in one doc I saw, but seems to be hinted at in some marketing docs. Thanks in advance!

Intersection assist: A stop sign or a traffic light??????? I guess it you were backing through the intersection, the Mav may hit the brakes if something is coming.

BLIS ( blind spot information system) There is also lane keep, collision alert and cross traffic alert.

I was thinking the cross-traffic alert only worked when you were backing up, like in a parking lot. Sometimes, even often, my thinking is not correct. It might work in an intersection, but it would seem that you would have to be in the middle of the intersection for it to see the vehicles either to you left or right and the horse could be out of the barn by then. In fact, I would not want the brakes to activate at that point.

What the hell is an intersection assist?

Intersection assist (which isn't on the Maverick) detects if an oncoming car is going to potentially hit you before you can cross the lanes to complete the turn and will automatically brake to a stop.
