Vibration on deceleration

I have a 22 maverick hybrid. Often on deceleration at slower speeds i get a strong vibration. Dealer says it’s normal as motor switches to electric. I had 2 fusion hybrids before and never experienced this. Anyone discuss this yet or experience the same issue?

I have 22 xlt hybrid. Only happened once as I was coming to a stop on freeway off ramp. Scared the bejesus out of me. That was September 2023. Has not repeated.

Is this when you stop, or just while slowing down? That distinction is important to answer the question. The engine is very smooth when it starts and stops, so that doesn't sound normal to me, unless the ICE is not up to operating temperature.

If it is during the final phase of braking it could be a sign that the brake rotors are warped, but on the hybrid that should only be noticeable under heavy braking when the hydraulic system takes over from regen.

If it is when you come to a complete stop, that is an issue is well known for 22s and some early 23s. There are software update for the ABS module, from the dealer, that will help reduce jarring stops as slow speed.

It’s not the brakes. It’s the motor that vibrates for 2 or 3 seconds after letting off the gas. Truck is well warmed up when it happens.

Sounds odd, could be a transmission issue. A few people have had issues with the flywheel in the eCVT.

Correct. It’s probably the transmission. I’ve attached a video that explains it in its simplest terms. Hope this helps.
