Not only have read about the ride quality of our little truck, but I've also experienced it first hand in my daily driving routines. However, it wasn't until I had the experience of driving another Ford product that I've come to appreciate the Maverick even more. Took the Maverick to my local dealer for the recall fixes, including the dreaded engine fire problem, thank God, and I was given a free rental. Per a new dictate by the Ford dealership, the car rental could only rent me a Ford vehicle! (Afraid of the competition?). I was placed into the only Ford on the lot, an EcoSport AWD. It wasn't long before I discovered my Maverick pick-up truck was much roomier and had a significantly smoother ride experience than the SUV, albeit, one of their less expensive vehicles. Point is, the Maverick's ride is probably above average for most cars and certainly near the top for a truck. Recalls aside, we made the right decision to purchase this most versatile and quality truck.

I traded in my 2018 EcoSport for the Maverick I have. The ride is much better in the Maverick for sure.

Got airbag recall done and dealer had me in a Ford Edge loaner. Ride was softer and floaty and steering felt a bit loose. Made me really appreciate the Maverick's "tautness" in both ride and handling. Maverick's ride is definitely firm but smooth.

I've been a Ford guy most of my life. So here's my comparison in ride quality of all the Fords I've owned
1994 Ford Ranger XLT < 2023 Ford Maverick
1998 Ford Ranger XLT < 2023 Ford Maverick
1998 Ford Mustang GT > 2023 Ford Maverick
2004 Ford Taurus SEL < 2023 Ford Maverick
2004 Ford F150 Lariat > 2023 Ford Maverick
2004 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition > 2023 Ford Maverick
2007 Ford Explorer XLT > 2023 Ford Maverick
2016 Ford Fusion SEL > 2023 Ford Maverick (actually best riding Ford I've ever owned)
2017 Ford Explorer Base = 2023 Ford Maverick

Clearly, you knew way before my revelation. Thanks for validating my experience.

I'd say you are the infinite source. Based on your vast experience, I'd say only the 2004 F-150 was the only PU that you regarded as having a better ride.

Update on the ride comparison of Ford's EcoSport and our Maverick.

Took the EcoSport for a highway run of about 15 miles and I came away with only more respect for the Maverick's road tracking, steering, and handling abilities. The EcoSport had a harsh ride, was noisy, and did not inspire confidence that I was attached to the road. (I realize there is probably a better "auto-speak" term for that, but I'm shooting from the gut here.) The point of this thread is not to bash the EcoSport, but rather to highlight the Maverick is a great vehicle at the price points and is a value compared to other vehicles in that price range.

There's a reason why the Ecosport is dead last in every comparison. I've never driven one, but I wouldn't have high hopes. I don't have issues with the ride of my Maverick. I think it's great. It definitely isn't as smooth as my Ram on the highway, but it doesn't have body roll in corners like the Ram (or my Grand Cherokee).
