I took my truck in to replace the stock brake pads with some ceramic blend ones I got mostly because of my experience with the Hybrid and it's grabby brakes previously in an Escape, and was experiencing the same situation on this Maverick. I had no choice but to take it in because the Maverick won't go into brake service mode and currently @Ford Motor Company 's only solution is an SSM advising servicers to use FDRS - as it cannot be done in ForScan either. I'm not paying $1,000 for FDRS software so I took it into confirm it wasn't just me doing something wrong.Oh, I have some prints that could be tested. I too wish I had not had the airbag recall performed.
The tech must have been proud enough of this work to have wanted to personally sign it with his finger prints. Not impressed.

On the dashcam I watched the footage and didn't see anything out of the ordinary while the services were being done (I have a 3 channel) but I did see the tech who apparently is dying of pneumonia continually cough in high hand all over my interior. It was one of those smoker nasty phlegm I'm always sick coughs. Disgusting. AND... they washed my already clean and detailed vehicle without drying it smh. That part I forgot about because they have 50 signs all over the front desk along with greeting cards and random magazine crap everywhere, so you never see the actual damn sign saying "If you don't want your vehicle washed, please inform us". Like, why TF wouldn't you just make it a habit to ask people if they want their vehicles hosed off without actually washing and drying them? Why just put it on a sign? Laziness and complacency. That's why.
I even had to ask if they were able to get it in brake service mode and they had to go track someone down to find out. I'm like, "I specifically asked to test it first to confirm it won't go into service mode per the instructions in the service manual". I don't say that, but I'm thinking it because it should have been in the notes and confirmed once everything was done without me having to ask. All I was told was "yea they had to use FDRS". At that point I'm just thinking "Get me the hell outta here". $100 even after I supplied the pads myself for a $30 job that can be done in 20 minutes. It's literally the ONLY thing I'm not happy about with this Maverick currently. Anything else is subjective nit picks or something like that, like - the center console could be bigger. Not a big deal.
So yea... I hate dealerships, I hate shops, I hate service departments. It's essentially retail customer service where every customer is the problem and not the joker behind the counter being rude and mad because of their poor life choices. Sorry, not sorry. Plenty of good people around, but too many places full of people who just don't know how to do those jobs. And if you are sick or a smoker or whatever and can't figure out to NOT COUGH IN YOUR HANDS even after COVID, please wear an effing mask or stay home. Seriously, disgusting. After watching the video I had to disinfect everything that was touched, burn my clothes and shower with bleach.
I can still hear that disgusting lung cough as I describe this story. Also, no floor mats put in, no seat protector, no steering wheel cover... c'mon man. It's 2023, these things should be standard for servicing departments.
I guess if I decide to trade in for a later year model down the road I'll be testing if it goes into brake service mode at the dealership lol.
