I have a copy of the signed 2023 Ford Maverick order summary from Ford (DORA, I think it is called) and provided the dealer a copy of my driver's license.
Now they want me to sign a Vehicle Buyer's Order with no vehicle information entered and a ton of additional sales terms.
Not signing a blank contract, I could end up buying a 1976 Ford Pinto for all I know. I said I'll give you a deposit, but that is it.

I uploaded a small snippet of the document.

Anyone with a similar situation?

Thanks.

If the Total matches your configured vehicle with Tax+License+(disclosed)dealer/doc fee, I say sign away.

I would say they should at least enter the vehicle info as much as possible until it’s assigned a vin# as well as the order number(s) before signing.

Do not sign that. They could stick you with anything.

I don't sign blank contracts period. There is nothing stopping them from filling what they want in the blanks.
My purchase contract was similar.
They need to fill in the vehicle's specific information you ordered and costs/fees.
The order number and salesmans name should be on it too.
They didn't require my initials on the "if I fail to take delivery " because they don't play that game. I signed on the bottom and the salesman signed his spot under it.
If they refuse to fill in the contract walk away fast. Or ask if they're willing to give you a signed blank check as insurance you'll get the right veh. ;)

Did you ask why they want you to sign a blank contract and buyers order when you’re not buying anything yet? And what the hell is a Doc stamp?! Never heard that one before

You buys your money and you take your chances.

I would venture to guess that you signed a sales agreement that didn’t vary from that very much if at all.

But then there is always the option to walk away and let someone else have a shot.

I called Ford Customer Care yesterday and explained the situation. They said "DO NOT SIGN" the blank document, have a face to face with the General Manager and come to an agreement with the vehicle properly documented, and if they refuse, "Walk Away". Customer Care had not heard of an incident like this and said the dealership are independently owed and they can basically do what they want. Looks like I will drive 2 hours (one way) to speak to the GM.

On the bright side, my order was in their system, but didn't have a build date.
