Using Zep to black out tail lights?

Hello, can someone tell me if I can use Zep to black out my rear tail lights on a lariat model? I ask because of the led rope light that’s in it. Thank you

ZEP shouldn't effect the light pipe since it's clear PC or acrylic. Remove the LED module in the same way as the incandescent bulb sockets-- twist and then pull.
