Installed the clean side UPR catch can today. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! legitimately plug and play takes all of 5 minutes to install!

Do you already have the dirty side can? You shouldn't see much benefit from the clean side can except under full throttle.

The parts and materials look like great quality. If I ever decide to add catch cans, this will be the kit I go with.

Why is a cold can that condenses water vapor 'highly recommended'?

Being the 25's have direct and port injection on the Ecos, are catch cans still useful?
No, in fact a small amount of oil is not a bad thing. Especially having port injection to wash it off the valves.

Totally agree. Not much to show with clean side only after a couple thousand miles.

So for me after owning many many high mileage ecoboost and hearing all the doom and gloom. I would not let the port injection sway me in either direction. Unless you would be tuning for e85.
with port injection you can easily upgrade those to flow enough for e85 and may not even need to upgrade the hpfp. I didn’t need to do that once the 3.5 went port.
So if no plans to tune it won’t matter in the least. If tuning the 25 has a draw for sure.

I was under the impression that having the port injection helps to keep the heads cleaner and prevent carbon build up, which led to the failure of a previous gdi engine I had

So that it doesn't go back into your intake and thus engine.

During the winter months (I'm in the upper Midwest) my dirty-side UPR catch can fills up in <300 miles even with mostly highway driving. It's a milky white color, which means it's just water with a little bit of oil (to be expected) that got heated up.
