That’s the DIY 12v accessories cable for the bed connectors, if you want to hook up a cooler or air compressor.

Thx, Ron. I wonder if this 12V cable is actuated by the key fob, or if it is constantly hot. If it is fob activated, then I wonder if I could use it to install a tailgate power lock, which my XL model lacks.

There's a thread here that shows what parts to buy from Ford that are direct fit to add the power lock on your XL, so much easier to do it with plug and play factory parts. Just do a search for it.
