I guess I grew up with a lot of need for speed games where you can tune and kit our various parts of cars and their engines is that still a thing this is coming from somebody who bought his first car two weeks ago is 36, and wants to learn all about his truck and how to improve its performance from stock parts to aftermarket

Yep, mine was tuned within a day or two of owning it. In fact I find the drivability so much better I don’t have a single vehicle that isn’t tuned.
I’ve saw no ill effects from it either. I have many high mileage tuned vehicles. My maverick has been tuned for 50k miles and about 20k has been heavy hauling. Around or over the 4k limit of the maverick.
I have tow tunes, 87-93octane tunes. And a e30 tune.

First mod I do to every ecoboost I own.

So you can run the stock ones without issues.
But I prefer one step colder ngk iridium plugs gapped to 28thou.
I’ll try and remember the plug number or look and post when I get home.

But you probably have time. I’m not sure if anyone has been able to tune the 25 mavericks yet.
I wouldn’t bother with a jb4. They just are not in the same ballpark as tunes. It’s a step above stock sure but it’s not a tune.
So it’s worth the wait for me to get the tune over jb4.

Who did you use? 5 Starr, livernois? I like the launch control livernois has.

I use livernois. Started with them in 2015 and have been very impressed with them. Much better than all the other ones I’ve tried.
I had one go over 400k of tuned miles.
Have a 2.0 edge currently pushing 300k tuned miles. They also have tuned my 23 f-150, 22 gt500, and 16 focus rs.
But those don’t have many miles on them.
I have the launch control on my 23 and it’s very nice being able to change times and e content on the fly.
I’ve not been impressed with 5 star.
In fact several friends have since moved on from them to Livernois, Tuneworks, or oz.

I installed a livernois tune, (91-93, and unused tow) partly from snox801 in other threads. I have no other "performance" mods. I didn't do it for going fast, I did it because I belong to a group of EB owners (seems to be 4k as well) that have problems with how the throttle response/shifting feels. I wasn't really thrilled about a "custom" back and forth cobb based tune to get the most power either. I wanted my truck to drive right. I'm a euro mechanic and have been driving 4 cylinder turbos for a while, and the Mav just didn't drive like what I'm used to. I had previously "unlocked" eco and sport modes with a forscan.

Now it does. I think it runs and drives how ford should have made it to begin with.

That is exactly why my wife has hers tuned. She never cares about the speed but they just drive so much better

That’s one expensive multi tuner man

IMG_0705.jpg
That is not correct.
I just ordered another one for a friend it was $650. Came with two times but they are pretty flexible on those. Then it’s very inexpensive to add tunes. If you are adding multi tune to the extra yes but that’s not the same as a flex octane tune. Multi tune is adjustable with the steering wheel and cruise control buttons.
Basically skip the plug in to obd2 to flash.
It also adds launch control. Two completely different setups.

If I wanted launch control, I’d have to do the multi tuner right? Am I looking at it incorrectly
