Truck Box Lighting.

I have installed some lights in the box using a control board wired to one of the accessory wiring points (via pig tail) . my problem is they work for a while then they stop working . Once I remove the under hood fuse box and re-install it then they work again for a short while, then off again. What gives, I see by searching the forums that I am not the only one with this issue.

I believe the power to the pigtails turn off after a certain amount of time when you turn the truck off. I'm sure there are more knowledgeable members that can help.

Thanks Rentman, I am aware of that, this is something else. They just loose power and won't work again until full power is cut off then hooked back up.

Stick a volt meter (DC setting) on the wires going to your board....

1) if the volt meter shows zero volts at the same time your board goes off, then the problem is not your board, something going on in the maverick.

2) if the volt meter shows 12 volts or so and your board goes off then you have a flaky board.

Thanks Canuck, been there done that. The board is fine something with the truck.

It shuts off if you draw too much power.

Perhaps you're getting some weird current spikes?
