I have never used this before this weekend so there's no reason for the fuse to be blown. I tried both side of the truck bed and neither side has 12v power.

My quetions are:

1- I will check fuse box and #84 fuse to see if it's already blown for whatever the reason
2- If it's blown, does the fuse box have any spare 20amp fuses that I can swap?
3- if I need to buy a fuse, can I just go to parts store or Walmart and get a generic 20amp fuse? Or this is a specific type?
4- if the fuse is fine, what are the steps to troubleshoot?

Thank you!

Hello @TheGoodEgg

I will go right back to the most basic query to start...do you have power turned on, on your truck, so that those electrical circuits are activated?

For example...you drive the truck and get home.

When you turn off the truck, you should still have power to your 12 volt plugs and ports (for about 60 to 90 minutes), (12 volt only, not the 110 volt power point).

If you all 12 volt power to these plugs etc turn off immediately, you have a battery charge issue.

It might be a good to check the 12 volt circuits for power while your truck is running first, if the fuse is blown then they will not have power at any time.

Check these things out first, and then let us know what you find out!

Hi @SafetyGuy thank you for your response.

I turned the truck on several times and it didn't have any power in the bed accessory pigtail. I will try again by doing some real drivings then test.

Hi @SafetyGuy thank you for your response.

No need to drive to check it for power, they should energize as soon as you start your truck!

Do you have anything connected to the pigtail available on both sides that is letting go you know you have no power? Or are you metering them?

I have both filled with @Maverick_Innovation_Designs items so I know mine are good as I check the 12 volt power indicator all the time.

Is your 110 volt power point working when you have power on?

I am just trying to troubleshoot this so sorry for the questions.

Andy

Check it with truck in accessory mode on OR Truck in ready to drive neutral with emergency brake on. If you turn truck off and 12v soc is below 12.1v battery save mode is active and the bed 12v circuit will be inactive. If truck 3/36 warranty is active take to dealer some have reported theirs were not connected. If you have push button start you can turn accessory mode on by pushing the start button without your foot on brake. Good luck.

Ok, I figured it out. I thought the car needs to run then once turn off, the power will stay on for a while. In my case, the key literally needs to be in Accessory or On position. Otherwise, it will shut off immediately.
Good morning @TheGoodEgg

Okay, I am so glad that you sorted out the rear 12 volt power issue.

Now I have other concerns as to your battery state of charge.

When you turn off your truck and open the door, the 12 volt power points should remain on for the previously mentioned 60 to 90 minutes!

If you have a meter and at your convenience, I would suggest you check your battery charge level as I am afraid your battery is at such a discharge level that your truck is in battery saver mode!

Have you been getting any messages on your Ford app about the truck at all?

If you don't have an inexpensive battery charge indicator, I also would suggest you need to get one...they are easier then pulling out a meter to check your battery charge level...it won't be as accurate as a meter, but it gets the job done.

Here is mine

Also, I and many others have one of those little Li battery boost packs in our truck and I think maybe you need one as well in case your battery dies a final death!

Sorry for sounding like the bearer of bad tidings, but I don't want to ignore a potential battery issue.

Please let us know your findings and I hope you are having a great day!

Andy

PS If your battery is low and you let us know, your next step will be to get a SMART BATTERY CHARGER of at least 4-5 amps that is appropriate for your battery chemistry (SLA or AGM), and we will go from there to help you with that as well.

They only stay on if they detect a load.
