Trailer towing connector

I bought a hybrid Lariat back in August and love it. It came with a 4-pin trailer towing connector. I don't plan on towing anything over the 2000lbs rating, but would like to use electric brakes on the trailer and also have the 12volt capability.
Does anybody have advice on upgrading the 4-pin connector to a 7-pin connector? Is that something the dealership would normally do or should I take it to my local commercial trailer company?

There's been numerous threads/post in the past on the subject. You'll need some type of controller for the trailer brakes. Hopefully someone with experience doing what's needed on a hybrid will post better info. Good Luck!
