After I got my build date I decided to shop for tonneau covers. I settled on the cheapest one on the Ford website called the Truxedo Roll Up. It cost $369 plus $30 for installation. At the time it was on sale for 20% off. Ford shipped the cover to the dealer for installation. Once I got my Mav I called the dealer to schedule the install. They told me they couldn't find my order as if they had never received it. After a few days and a few more phone calls they had located it and we confirmed an install date. I dropped off the truck and picked it up a few hours later. What they had installed was not the cheapest tonneau that I had actually ordered and paid for, but instead the most expensive tonneau cover called REV Hard Folding In Rail Bed Cover listed for $1219. Not sure what the installation cost was supposed to be for that model, but I'm sure it's more than $30. The service manager that had been helping me didn't seem like there was any issue so I said thanks and drove away. Couldn't be happier with this cover. When it's folded all the way open, it intrudes very little on the bed space. It sits even with the top surface of the bed sides and doesn't rattle or make any noise. Best of all its totally secure as it cannot be opened unless the tailgate it down.

Wait until the person who ordered this cover drops off his truck and comes back and finds the Truxedo roll up cover installed on his truck. That may be another thread starter topic!!! 🙂

You did well (y)
Somehow I wound up with 84,000 Ford pass Points instead of 42,000, and Yes I spent all 84K :)
Especially since I had to pay over MSRP, to be honest I was lucky to get truck in the first place, so if they felt compelled to give you the 1,200 cover, then it was meant to be!

Somehow customers taking advantage of the dealers just doesn't seem right. ;) Who would have thought?............ I suppose the dealers may come up with something to maintain their narrow profit margins!!!🙂

I also ended up having to pay over msrp. At first They wouldn't allow me to finance thru my bank where I was approved for 3.89% and instead said I had to go through Ford credit at 8.5%. Also they wouldnt sell me the Mav without a dealer installed alarm system. We finally settled on msrp plus Ford Protect Premium extended warranty at the same value as the alarm system would have been if I had allowed them to install it. I purchased the vehicle 9 days ago and my warranty is not reflected on the ford pass app and my vin, when searched on the Ford website, indicates i have no warranty. I spoke with someone at the dealership about it and they asked me for a few more days to update their records. I will extend them that courtesy, but I will be returning that extended warranty for a full refund.

Some is going to be suprised when his Mav is ready for pickup, with the wrong tonneau cover installed on it. Ford will make good on it, but you will be a much happier camper with yours!

But the rest of us got a box of cheap plastic FIT parts from Ford. Almost the same. 🤔
When my original build date got pushed back I got an email from Ford that I too was gonna get those FITS parts. They never arrived and they were not in the truck when I purchased. I had to call Ford and have them send then to me. They claimed they had the wrong address. Whatever... they're supposedly on their way now.

Not sure had everything shipped to the dealer. When I purchased from the site it allowed me to set an install date, but it did not indicate when the dealer received it.
