Just got this text from my sales guy!
Ford Maverick Tomorrow is the day! SmartSelect_20220425-152314_Messages

I go in tomorrow afternoon to hopefully drive it home.

I am driving to carmax today to get an appraisal on my Mazda 6 and then I'm going to take that offer and bring it to the dealer to see if they can match it for a trade in. If they offer significantly less I'm going back to carmax to sell my Mazda and the maverick may have to wait an extra day. Fingers crossed things go smoothly with the dealer, tomorrow is the day I have been dreading but excited about for 6 months.

Anyone else getting their mav this week?

What is the dealer? Have you already mentioned having a trade and they provided any indication as to what they might pay (or even an initial offer)?

I only ask because...there are stories out there about dealers adding $ or not willing to do things like use certain financing/rates/etc when a buyer doesn't have a trade-in.

Have you run your vehicle through Carvana and/or Vroom as well? Would take about 15 minutes total to check both - it will give you a much better overall idea of what your vehicle is worth in addition to Carmax - and there is a solid chance one of them will come back significantly higher than either the dealer or carmax, even when tax is considered.

I've used Carvana twice now and they are extremely easy to deal with (Carmax as well). For all 3 of our last vehicles sold to one of those two businesses, the online offers stood as the final offer. Carvana will not haggle down in person unless condition is appreciably different from what you indicate; Carmax of course will do an in-person final evaluation, but both of them stood by their offers for me. Well worth the time spent for potentially thousands $.

I'll even give you my last example - Carmax/Vroom and local dealers (through KBB) offered $14-16K for my wife's 2018 Fiat 500. The final payout from Carvana was $19,920 (that continued to go up over a couple months while I found the right replacement).

Yes I did alert my sales guy about a month ago and I actually did both Carvana's online quote and CarMax's online quote and the CarMax offer came back around $1,000 higher. Same with the KBB value that received. I am going to go into Carmax today and get a solidified offer and then re-check carvana before I head to the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks for all the info, It definitely helps hearing others experiences.

Congratulations, I am picking up mine tomorrow also.
I have to drive 102 miles to get it. I am trading in my 2018 Honda Civic turbo hatchback with 53000 miles on it.
If I don’t like there offer I will pay them a big down payment and then take it back and sell it locally. Good luck to you
