Thoughts on improper reassembly after paintwork?

Had my Maverick in for some driver side paint repair, that involved removing the door assembly, window regulator, one touch up/down motor. Didnt notice until few days later, that i can not roll the windows up/down on the passenger side from the driver side window controls. The front passenger can be rolled down from passenger side fine, the rear passenger side window can be rolled down from passenger side.

Also the window lock on driver side does not function i believe. The light turns on indicating the windows should be locked, but i am still able to roll driver side windows up and down. Or does the window lock only control rear windows, driver and passenger side only?




To Sum Up:
Driver Side Front/Back work fine.
Passenger Side Front/Back do not work from Driver Side.

yep you're right, they screwed something up with the door switch assembly sorry to say. contact them asap.

Sounds like they missed a wire connection on the door when they reassembled.

Either they broke something or didnt plug something all the way in on the door switch.

The window lock Only locks the rear windows, at least on my Lariat Lux Hybrid.
I would have thought it would at least also lock the front passenger window, but it does not.

I just tested it again to make sure before posting this. Front passenger can still roll down their window with the lock on, so can the driver.

Whoever worked on your truck needs to fix not being able to operate all windows from the driver side.

The window lock button locks out the window switches on the two rear passenger doors. At all times, lock on or off, the driver door switches can control all 4 windows. What the lock does is prevent your rear passengers from opening/closing their windows. So to test it, you’d need to turn it on and go to the rear doors.

As you note that all 4 windows open and close properly, but the driver door only controls 2/4, it does appear that the driver windows switch wasn’t properly reinstalled.
