What did you do?
I spent about a year investigating and researching the Maverick (including test drives) to make sure it was the best choice for for me. I have 2 reliable vehicles to drive already so no hurry to order immediately. Then Ford sent me a rebate out of the blue with a deadline so I ordered my Maverick configured EXACTLY the way I want it and am OK with the wait. I expect to keep it until I'm forced to switch to some kind of EV or they take the keys away from me because I'm not safe on the roads anymore ;)

Have you driven the Frontier yet ? the heavy steering at low speed plus mid/truck size/mpg and all of that have me just waiting not so patiently for the Maverick- The Frontier does look great though

If you got money buy it, wheel it, sell it in 6 months. Market is good right now apparently.

Reliability and resale value (immediate and future) probably most important to me at this very moment.
Buy a Toyota

If you find yourself going mid size immediately while you wait for your Maverick to come in, why not look at Ranger? Frontier has horrible mileage and the current 2022 Ranger is the last model year before the new version is released (supposedly later this year) so might be able to score a great closeout deal on 1. This might help a lot in a trade-in for the Maverick in your future?

2022 Nissan Frontier Pro4X…MSRP $41,460 sitting on lot right where I parked it Saturday afternoon.

I still have a June unscheduled hybrid order with MSRP of $25,000.

I could text my cousin now and pick the frontier up in a couple hours or continue the wait… what y’all thinking?

My vote if you had the money to spend would be Tacoma. You can get a nicely optioned one for the less than the price of the Frontier. I think anything over 30k Tacoma is the better truck (excluding mpg) but if you can afford 30k then mpg us probably not a concern for you. The Tacoma is a great looking real truck.
Tacoma seating position is not a good fit for many people, including me. Test reports I've read mention uncomfortable seating position too. I was considering Tacoma in the background while waiting for new rumored redesigned Ranger to come out. Once I read that seating info I scratched it, and then rumors of Maverick started to leak out and that was all she wrote.

If the money and MPG has no large bearing on on which vehicle to get and you cannot afford both then I would definitely go with the frontier. It's more capable than the Maverick and if you're seriously questioning between the 2 I think you'll be disappointed with the Maverick. Most of the time I'm asked when I'm putting larger tires and a lift on the Maverick. My response is never because that's not why I purchased it.

I still don't think Ford has not done enough of a redesign of the Ranger to get to excited about

Summary - The Frontier came in last, the Maverick came in first. At 19:43, it was the first truck eliminated

I ordered a Maverick so alternatives weren't important to me after that.
