Hybrid XLT, Lux package, CoPilot 360, sunroof, Cactus Gray. 2022 rollover order.

Ordered 9/16/22, production 3/08/23, shipped 3/12/23, delivered 4/16/23, picked up 4/21/23.

Notes on pickup process:
  • Dealer honored their word to not mark up.
  • Dealer went the extra mile to get my missing private offer certificate produced just in time, literally the morning of pickup. Not sure what the issue was with mine, so unfortunately no helpful tips to pass on. All of my calls to Ford and the dealer (probably a dozen total) were not productive other than getting a case created.
  • Dealer did not honor price protection. MSRP went up $400 between order and delivery. Sales rep was either unable or unwilling to figure it out in the system.
  • I was able to get the entire $400 in dealer installed add-on fees knocked off by financing through them. A decent rate, 5.99%. I was approved for less than that elsewhere, so plan to refinance very soon.
  • Did not push more on the price protection as they warned/reminded me several times that they could make $5k+ more by selling it to someone else if I walked. The original ordering customer has so little leverage in this situation.

Notes on first impressions:
  • I had barely sat in a Maverick prior to picking up, and had not test driven one at all.
  • Cabin is on the snug side but makes efficient use of space, and is impressive given the size of the vehicle. I can fit a car seat and two boosters in the back. About the same hip and shoulder room as my VW Golf Alltrack. Front seats are fine for my wife and me.
  • Some exterior body panels have inconsistent gaps. Built Ford rough.
  • Speakers are bass-heavy and muddy. I adjusted bass down a click, midrange down two clicks, treble up two clicks. Clearer. Likely will swap front door speakers eventually.
  • No issues with Bluetooth or Android Auto so far.
  • Drives very well! Feels solid and damped on the road, decent acceleration, and stable handling in corners. Extremely quiet at low speeds. Highway noise is average.
  • Would not change a thing on my order so far. The moonroof is great. Thought about the rear sliding window but opted against it for visibility reasons. Definitely the right call.
  • Really sucks not to have a split rear bench. With a car seat the barrier to using the storage space is high, basically becomes cold storage. What I put in there: first aid kit, jumper cables, tire repair kit, one rear headrest, and a basketball.
  • The storage cubby in the bed is not watertight. Might fiddle with the weatherstripping on the back of the panel. Would really like to store some bike tools and gear in there.
  • Trucks are fun. Kids love them.

Picked up a Pro X15 a few weeks ago from AutoAnything. They had a rebate going for a month and with the two coupons I got I paid $373 after taxes and rebates. Even beat RealTruck

Great tip, thanks. Looks like the Easter deal ran out, unfortunately.
