My guess if that the fix will involve turning taillight grommet posts until things fit correctly and "loosely".
Had the issue on my 23, and after a couple of tries I got them to go in like a glove.

Summary
Some 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles may exhibit a condition where the rear lamp assemblies do not fit tightly or have a large gap to the body. Ford is aware of the concern and this condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and a solution for this condition is expected by 3th quarter of 2024. Replacement of the rear lamp assemblies and/or retaining grommets will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule a service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
