The video that was posted somewhere on these threads showed the guy with watered down dish soap instead of windex, Looked like it worked really good

1 cup of water, 2oz Rubbing alcohol, 2 drops dawn soap

So you can slide the letters to position them properly. Dry you would have to be perfect.

Definitely the best technique for applying sticky things...the polished black letters are a nice look, especially since ford decided there would be no brightwork on the body.

My tailgate letters came today to bad my Alto blue tailgate hasn't been made yet ordered the chrome mirror variant on Thanksgiving day.
