I have a 2025 XLT for a month now with the intenions of just a street truck. I went on a trip taking my parents to see family when my truck was tested twice with out wanting too. I will say I am impressed with the suspension and Handling on my stock truck but after these tests I would like to upgrade. so here it goes first test I was driving down highway at 80 mph when a car on the uncomiig lain tried to pass with no room and I had no choice but put into ditch. After a lil bumpy ride I was able to safely stop truck with no incident. test two my 72 year old mother was driving also around 80 mph when the lady next to us fell asleep forcing us into ditch with a 35 degree angle. we able to safely stop and keep truck under control all this ditch made for a very rough road. Both times we drove off with no isues to my truck, So here we are I'd like to update suspension but have no clue what I am talking about can anyone help me.....

With two good outcomes like that, I don't think I would do anything. You may improve it, but it seems like it could go the other way too.

Suddenly off-roading your truck at 80mph will eventually lead to damage. Perhaps you might rethink the street only ideal and install an off the road suspension system like the Rough Country system? Beefier AT tires with a taller sidewall can also help with that ditch witch attitude. 🙄

Hey there's a good name for your rig.

I’ve been in all kinds of situations and never let someone force me off the road or in a ditch.

Driving off the road like that means you didn’t take other options.
If situational awareness is up to speed you should be able to not only see it coming in time to react but have time to maneuver out of it and stay on the road.

Here comes a car, quickly brake, or do a partial lane change and punch it.

I’ve had more than one drunk driver try hard to hit me. They are not near as quick as I am.
So far.

IF I’ve got nowhere to go after watching them take aim at me, I’m gonna crash them so hard and in a way that it’s obvious it’s their fault.
I will make sure their insurance is made to pay not mine.
Basically all you gotta do is make sure first contact is not your front end hitting them.
Impact needs to be their front end or front fenders into your sides behind the front doors or your rear end.

Ain’t no way in hell some idiot falling asleep or what ever is going to run me in a ditch damaging my vehicle, screwing up my day and drive away without a scratch.
No Sir !

Driving off the road IS sometimes the best option but I’m taking the idiot with me if at all possible.

Do you know the pit maneuver ? Once there is impact to your side slip back and turn into his rear quarter and he will loose it in front of you. With good controlled braking you will get to see the look on his/her face when he slides sideways then backwards in front of you.
Watch how the cops do it.

“I dunno officer, I didn’t see him hit me but once he did I had no control because he hit me so hard. I tried to stay in my lane.”

The other guy will be lying his ass off. You play it smart and the evidence will back up your story.

Don’t ask me if I’ve ever been hit this way.
I’d never drive through a crash to protect myself. I’d just let them run me in a ditch
NOT !

I think it's time to install my auto dimming homelink mirror and dashcam as it's hard to fight video evidence. That way I have evidence when I report reckless or inattentive drivers after I narrowly avoid them.
