Yes! That works. Just leave the fob in the truck and take the key with me. All good.

The other thing I do is bring a small faraday pouch

If you put your keys in this pouch it won't give out or receive any signals. Which is great because I stash my keys nearby or I put it in a small lock box that I have attached to the outside of my bedrock.
