Recommended trails: Imogene Pass Trail / Black Bear Pass / Engineer Pass

August Average Temperatures: daytime 50°F–68°F (10°C–20°C), nighttime 32°F–41°F (0°C–5°C).
Highlights: High-altitude mountains, magnificent waterfalls, and mining ruins. Roads are mostly gravel and steep, offering a challenging experience.


2. Utah
Recommended trails: Mirror Lake Scenic Byway / Hole-in-the-Rock Trail


August Average Temperatures:
Mirror Lake: Daytime 15°C - 20°C (59°F - 68°F), nighttime 0°C - 5°C (32°F - 41°F).
Hole-in-the-Rock: Daytime 25°C - 30°C (77°F - 86°F), Nighttime 10°C - 15°C (50°F - 59°F).

Mirror Lake: Alpine lakes and forest trails, ideal for beginner off-roaders.

I wouldn't call going to the sun road off-road, if it is then the blue ridge parkway in North Carolina would be another one. Real scenic.

I wouldn't call going to the sun road off-road, if it is then the blue ridge parkway in North Carolina would be another one. Real scenic.

Morrison Jeep trail has been impassable for years. I wouldn't recommend trying it in a Maverick either.
