Just noticed that our Maverick dash is doing that, sticky when it's hot, then not when it cools off. I'm in the auto upholstery trade and we have been dealing with the Lexus / Toyota dashes for years.
I don't think the Maverick dash is made out of the same material. The Lexus dash material gets real soft to the point that you can scratch it with a fingernail, and they develop cracks in the material too.
I have not put any kind of dressing on the Maverick dash. I intend to try cleaning it really well with some of the pro cleaner that we use.
Then I will see if the problem continues. If so, I will be notifying Ford right away so it will be documented.
