Been here since near the beginning of this forum and have a topic that I don't think has been discussed before: how does one go about stopping all the clicking and clacking in order to actually sleep in the seat of a Hybrid Maverick?

Today I loaded up the family at 2AM to go find a place to watch the solar eclipse. Rolled into a Walmart at 5:30AM and figured I would get a short nap before setting up all my equipment (cameras, telescope, etc.). However, every time someone moved even a fraction, the truck would "wake up" with the normal loud "click-click-clack" and then approximately 2 minutes later go back to sleep (or what-ever it does) with the standard "clack-clack-click". Needless to say, with me, my wife, and two teens in the truck, there was always someone moving. Drove me absolutely crazy. I am a fairly light sleeper so this meant I got zero sleep. Since the whole point of buying a Maverick was for long road-trips (that often includes 3AM power naps at rest stops), all this unnessary "on/off/on/off/etc." is a problem I can't ignore (and I am not a fan of using ear plugs or head-phones when in a public place like a truck stop or state rest area).

I tried locking the truck with the key-fob. That did not work. Also tried locking the truck with the door lock. Also didn't work.

Anyone figured out a way to keep this crazy truck from constantly waking up when you are inside it? Anything that can be done in Forescan to reduce the sensitivity or just have the truck wake up when you put the key in the ignition? Almost wondering if I need to put the key fob in a lead box or something. Thanks.

Sorry but no. That's one of the reasons I did cave and started using ear plugs. I know that doesn't help, but I must say that it is more comfortable than most vehicles I've been in recently.

Well, that was going to be my suggestion. Try using a Faraday bag to see if it makes an improvement. They're not that expensive on Amazingon, but I think you will still have some clicking.

I think this works:
In hybrid with perimeter alarm push button start with truck in Ready mode push button to turn truck off then push key fob lock button twice to lock and turn perimeter alarm on. THEN WHILE SEATED open the driver door and shut it (this apparently confirms that you want to stay in truck) THEN push key fob lock button twice this turns off courtesy lights, PowerPoints, radio, and dash and all lit buttons off within 3-5 seconds. (I believe that the double fob lock as well as the door handle double lock Also tell truck that you do not intend to start it anytime soon as either seem to reduce or turn off the clicking relays.). WARNING If a door is opened from the inside you will have 10-20 seconds to start the truck or push the fob unlock button or the "I am being stolen or messed with horn and flashing lights."
In the xlt turn key off and push fob lock twice. Am not sure on it if the door open second double lock is necessary if it doesn't have perimeter alarm.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
