School Zone Chime

I discovered today that my Maverick chimes twice whenever I enter a school traffic zone. I wasn’t expecting that.

Turns out it was my Garmin GPS unit that was the source of the chimes!

Not all schools have the technology which activates the Maverick chime system upon entrance to the school zone!!!

I don’t know what technology activates the school zone alert chimes, but I did have the Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control on. I was also driving on a state highway. The system alerted me multiple times on this 182 mile drive. I had never had any previous alerts when driving locally around town. BTW, I got a readout of 48 MPG for the total drive that was about 60% highway cruising at 65 mph when possible. I’m more than pleased with this truck so far.

I don’t use either one, but you just got me thinking… I was using my Garmin GPS and I bet that device produced the alert tone instead of my Maverick! DUH!!!!!

I wasn't paying attention to this until now, I decided to check it out because I also have Garmin installed and it really does. Impressive By the way, besides, as a technical college student I would like to do a write up on these things and how they work, I think it might help me https://studydriver.com/ have you guys ever used this? Or maybe you have other recommendations?

You really should update the title of this post to clarify that the school zone chime is produced by your Garmin, not the Maverick.
