Must really suck to live up north. I've had many Ford's here in Texas and never had any rust issues. The underside of my sons 2010 F150 looks almost new. Of course, they don't salt any roads down here either ;)
70K F150 reduced to a scrap heap of rust in 8 years... that's New England.
And that's why I don't by expensive cars... they just won't hold up to the salt

Exactly! After stints in San Diego at Camp Pendleton, and now in Vegas, his 2010 F150 is up to 200k and still no rust šŸ˜Ž

Does the ceramic coating help with any of this rusting? I plan on taking mine first thing, literally, to get that on. Then I'm going to line-x to get the spray in bedliner.

Quick question, if I get the ceramic coating, should I get the spray in bedliner first? Will the coating mess up the bedliner sticking?

Thanks anyone who answers.

Yep Ford's are known for their rust. You think its bad now, give it a few years.

No because this is under and in the structure of the truck. However there are chemicals that can be applied internally to coat and protect. Linseed oil is my fav.

BEDLINER FIRST UNLESS YOU DO NOT USE CERAMIC IN THE BED.

STILL THEY CAN USE WAX REMOVER EITHER WAY

Very good to know on the rust issues. I plan on sliding under the car before winter gets cold and spraying some WD-40 specialist corrosion inhibitor on the known rust points before it gets to that level. That product has worked well for me in the past to prevent rust, though I didn't live in a wet environment at the time

Thatā€™s not dirt, itā€™s rust. I tried scraping it off and itā€™s stuck on there. Also Iā€™ve not taken this thing off any paved road or even out of the city yet for that matter. The only ā€œoff-roadingā€ it has seen is going through my campusā€™s crappy parking lots.
Only the body rust would be considered an issue. All the other pictures were unnecessary. That is normal.

It looks like someone did a careless job lifting it at the body pinch welds, and the paint has been removed. Spray on some rustproofing to stop any rust penetration. All the other "rust" areas look normal. It will take 50 years to actually do any damage on these parts. All manufacturers use rust in certain clamp bolts to lock them. Do not put any rust prevention in places like the tie rod adjusters for example. If you are concerned about rust, why have you not undercoated the vehicle? BTW, if you think that's a lot of rust, take a look under a Taco or a Colorado and you'll see a lot more rust than on the Mav.
