Can anyone shed some info or insight on my quest to increase the storage on the Maverick without spending a whole lot of money.

I have a hard roll top tonneau cover and would like to know if it would work having a roof bag sit directly on it and the straps fed through the sides while it's close? I have an old roof bag I used to use on my suv's bare roof. Trying to avoid the extra weight and cost of a tower, cross bars and basket.

Check with the manufacturer of the cover for weight capacity and go from there. You could also make a internal crossbar using the flex bed slots to make a center support for your tonneau out of lumber.

That would depend on the product you have. You would need to check with that company.

Just an update on my plan to use a roof bag to increase my storage space and I have come to a conclusion to put it on top of my BamBeds!

It will house all four of my sleeping bags for my family, either the inflatable full size mattress, two self inflating sleeping pads, or my hiking foldable sleeping pad. I can also throw in all our clothes and extra creature comfort accessories that I don't want to get dusty in it!

My gears, tent, camping chairs, canopy, cots, can go under the platform. I can also utilize the tailgate extension platform a sort of a sliding drawer to put things all the way to the front of the truck and pull it out without having to remove the platform already in place!

The Roofbag allows for more room either the top or end depending the position since it has a tapered design. I also have allowances on both sides about 6 inches width.

I'm planning to strap it down with the provided straps and or throw a bungee net on it since for obvious reason, the tonneau cover will remain open.

So what you all thing? Any comments, suggestions, improvements, are welcome.
