In deciding which Bug Shield to purchase my requirement were:

- No tape. Shield needed to be attached with hardware.
- No drilling. Hardware holes had to align with existing holes on hood.

I decided on the " EGR Matte Black Superguard Bug Shield" which I purchased from Real Truck. I would not describe the installation
as "difficult", but rather a "pain in the ass" type of installation. Some of the included hardware is nylon and I am slightly worried about
the durability of these parts.

Overall, I am satisfied with the shield and the appearance is excellent.

I just ordered the AVS Bugflector II, also because I didn't like the adhesive idea and wanted a higher profile shield. I've read some of these have hole alignment issues, so I'm hoping mine will be drilled correctly right out of the box.

I just ordered the AVS one recently from RealTruck and it wasn't even close to correct. Waiting on a response from customer service for a couple days.

There are not different versions of the Bugflector II. There is only one version and the holes do not line up on the Maverick.

Well, that sucks! I thought I'd read where some said their Bugflector II fit right out of the box (newer version?), and others said they only had to enlarge one hole to make it work.

If anyone reading this has managed to get a hardware mounted (non-adhesive) AVS Bugflector II mounted please chime in on how you got it to fit snugly.

EDIT: Found this:

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/avs-bugflector-ii-bug-shield.14797/

It looks like the AVS Bugflector is "doable", and some have installed it with few issues.

I also ordered the AVS Bugflector II a few days ago. I called and spoke/ordered with someone at Real Truck and he said that since I called in the order, I will be able to return it for a full refund without any shipping return fees, etc.

I mentioned to him how this particular bug deflector has had issues with fitment, holes not aligned and such. I really like the looks but skeptical that it will be a perfect fit once I receive it. I also read that the hood bumpers need to be adjusted so the hood can close properly once installed. I really don't want to compromise the hood alignment and fender body gaps just to install this. We'll see.

I just installed my deflector last week. I only had to drill(slightly enlarge) 1 hole. I am happy with to overall fit and finish. I used the push pins provided in the box. I ordered mine on ebay. Saved $10 shipping over Real Truck (who would not give a discount for this forum)

Do you have photos? I went with one of the stick on versions offered by ford, and although I like the look, I don’t like how little coverage it has, or how it really doesn’t seem to change any trajectory of rocks/bugs. It’s more just a hood “protector” than “deflector”

I get what you are saying but I'm the opposite. I drive about 30,000 miles per year with 90% being highway. I want to protect the front 4 inches of the hood from "road rash" more than protect the windshield from bugs. In any case, see pictures below.

I went with the AVS Aeroskin; it fits perfectly and the double sided tape can be removed easily if needed w/o any damage to the paint.
Also the tape is applied in individual pieces rather than a long continuous piece to allow for water and what not to pass through 👍
I’m very happy with how it looks as well as having a protection for the hood edge☺

Same here. Mine just arrived and in a box in the garage. I suspect mine will also not align. This sucks. Now I have to go through all the return hassle.

That looks great, Yaz. Thanks for the pictures. I am going with that matte EGR on my brand new Mav which has the BAP. I just picked up my truck on Friday...

If you ordered it over the phone and need to return it for a full refund, you should be able to do it with free return shipping. That is what i was told from Real Truck. I will try to install it in the next couple days. I may have to return it as well.
