Removing specific options to expedite production

Hello,
I am sure this has been addressed before, but I was hoping to hear some feedback from anyone who has removed some of the features that are currently holding up production. For context, I placed an order for XLT Hybrid (Alto-Blue) on 10/22/21 from my dealer in Huntington Beach, CA. After speaking with my salesman last month (following Tim's video / announcement), I asked whether or not removing 3 features *Spray In Bed Liner* *Bed Extender* and *Trailer Hitch* would expedite the process. Strangely, while he said it would move my vehicle along faster, he also said that it could "move be back a few weeks in production" - which was basically a contradiction.

I've been waiting to actually pull the trigger and remove these 3 items for fear that it might somehow adjust my order in a way that puts me at the "back of the line" per se. I was hoping that someone on here has also removed certain items and if possible, heard of / experienced a speed-up in their production / build time.

PS. It was my particular dealer who said that the trailer hitch was also impacted, something which I hadn't previously heard, but if it means I can get my Maverick any quicker, I am willing to remove it for now and install it post-delivery.

Just remember the trailer hitch is only 100.00 (ordered). I was reading on another thread that an aftermarket hitch was quite expensive to get installed and you needed a wire harness from another vehicle to get it working.

What @rclee said, please don’t remove the hitch!!!! I made a thread about not changing your orders except what can be easily added. The hitch will cost you 3-10 times as much after the fact. I encourage removing the bed extended and bed liner. The bed liner can be done, with a lifetime warranty, from many different companies.

Many people have been picked up after removing certain items The changes are encouraged by Ford, so you will not lose your order placement. Certain large changes, like XLT to Lariat, would send you to the end of the line. I don’t even think those large changes are possible anymore with the Maverick order books closed for months.
