Has anyone removed the two plastic running boards on the bottom of each side of the vehicle? (I think that's what they're called) could this increase ground clearance or at least limit rock interference? Additionally has anyone removed the stock plastic rear bumper and built a high clearance replacement? And had anyone modified the plastic front bumper to increase approach angle? Aside from removing the (fangs) directly in front of the tires, looking for an option to give enough clearance to justify cutting. Thanks in advance.

I recall seeing photos of a person who trimmed the bottom off. It was a post quite a while back.

I cut the rear cover up , look under prerunner build , I did a thing!
Tube one should be done this weekend .
Side plastic covers are best to leave on , a lot of fastner holes into sheet metal , looks a little strang off .
Look online to get off , scredriver to pop after twistng 45 degrees on bottom squares , alittle weird plastic retainers.
Rear bumper for temp i cut about 5” off bootom all the way around , but am building a tube bumper now with rear diff and exit skid plate along with complete plastic removal and relocate of hitch higher and inward.

Best bet overall is jcr off road’s floor skid plates setup . I have the plates , cheaper than making my own . They also offer nerf bars , i am making my own style .
Replaces the joke of the felt covers that “protect” the fuel lines and evap canister under drivers footwell.

Excited to see that tube bumper and how you relocate the hitch! It looks like you haven't modified the front bumper at all, do you have plans to, or do you think the tremor front bumper has enough angle? I have the base awd, non-fx4, looking to increase approach angle and not sure if I should cut or maybe slap a tremor bumper on. Also gotta figure out a good recovery point in the front 🤷‍♂️

Front is in the works , for yours changing to tremor to much $ and pi the a$$.
If you get a 255/75/17 on it the approach angle will meet most peoples requirements.
I will be trimming strait across above the marker lights and rebuilding a couple supports and doing a tube style pre-runner style nerf bumper with a additional aluminum skidplate to meet up with the factory tremor plate on the bottom.
