Hello fellow Maverick owners/enthusiasts. I'm JT and I'm new here. Been following a lot of posts from the "side lines" and finally decided to try and join in conversation. I ordered my Maverick XLT back on June 14th 2021. Have not gotten any updates at all on status of my order until I called Ford directly today. They said I'm still waiting on a VIN # because as part of my XLT luxury package, I got the spray in bed liner. Unfortunately at this time Ford does not have the materials for the bed liners and couldn't give me any type of eta for my build date or anything.

My question is I guess, can I call Ford directly again and have them remove the spray in liner off my build but keep everything else on my order to get the build process started, or if I take off the bed liner would that alter the whole "luxury package" and I lose a lot of options? I really really want this truck as it is my first true brand new vehicle and want to finally hear some news on building it.

Honestly, at this point in the game, I do not think you can do anything. I think it was said that you cant change anything with the XLT lux package. Or you would have to drop the package entirely. You can not just drop the spray in from the package.

Ford created a new package "XLT Luxury with Drop-in Bedliner."

You can remove the Lux SIBL package and add the Lux DIBL.

That will retain all the other features of the Lux package while eliminating the Spray-in constraint.
Your dealer has to do that for you. You cannot contact Ford directly to have that done.

That said, I see XLT lux packages getting scheduled. So I don't believe it's accurate that they can build NONE of them; just fewer. Furthermore, I believe that the spray-in isn't the only constraint on XLT lux builds; the chip shortage is a factor as well. In that case, changing to DIBL doesn't guarantee that you'll get scheduled either.

Your call (so to speak). You pays your money and you takes your chances.

Just be aware depending on your order date. Changing packages could cause you to pay the price increases.

I'm hoping that it will be very soon, I'd rather not jeopardize my build/delivery date if I change the sibl to a dibl. I appreciate all the input from everyone. I always come here if I have questions to try and find answers to.

I believe that is true now. You cannot drop the SIBL without dropping the LUX option completely. For me the LUX package has too many goodies to drop even if it adds time to the order.

JT We ordered our xlt, lux, 360 on June 14th too. We heard nothing until the wife called Ford in Dec and in Jan then we got a date and vin. Then they changed the build date from 3-14 to 4-11 then to 4-4 then to 3-28. I guess call next month maybe you will get lucky. We are not to far from you here in Ohio just hang in there.

I placed my Maverick XLT Hybrid order on July 23rd. I asked the dealer to remove the spray in bedliner twice and both times said they couldn't do it as it would mess up my order. Well, they were wrong. I contacted Ford directly this morning and the representative was great. She actually contacted the dealership directly and spoke with the manager and asked him to remove the bedliner for me while I remained on hold on the other line. She did confirm that he removed it after she explained to him that it wouldn't mess up the order and would in fact help speed things up. Concerning the luxury package, I'm not sure about that, but maybe see if the representative at Ford will call the dealer for you like mine did. Now we'll see if I get a production date soon?

I doubt it's the SIBL holding your order up. I ordered mine in January with a SIBL and my Maverick is scheduled for production in a couple of weeks. It's probably a combination of things, talk to your dealer, ask how many mavericks they're allocated each month and how many are ahead of you.

I wouldn’t change anything and get the truck you want. My Mav just shipped, hybrid, LUX package SIBL, Manual window. With all the delays reported I was tempted to drop the SIBL and even thought about the LUX package but decided to keep everything. I’m glad I did now it’s on the way.
