I was a "Johnny come lately" who had looked at a Maverick about 6 weeks ago but only decided to place an order when Ford announced EB orders would be cut off Jan. 27. I placed my order with Koch 33 Ford in Easton, PA, on Jan. 24. Shout out to sales manager Bill Kammetler who has been great with communication and today provided a copy of my COVP approval. (FYI: Tomorrow, Feb. 2, is the deadline for dealers to complete the COVP process for any outstanding orders.)

As he put it, "Now it's just the waiting, and that's the most painful part."

Indeed...

Same thing happened w/ me. I placed an AWD XLT order on 1/10, recieved the order confirmation email that night. Then earlier this morning, my dealership asked for me to sign the DORA to confirm the COVP, with a deadline of 5pm today..

I assume this means both of us are February allocations from our dealerships?

Well, first of all, yes, TODAY is the deadline for ALL orders to be submitted through the COVP (verification).

However, just because we are getting verified doesn't have anything to do with when our trucks will be scheduled or built. ALL the orders go through COVP (except the ones that the dealers forgot to do and screwed a bunch of customers out of their hybrids and are now trying to blame Ford). But I digress.

Getting COVP approval just means Ford is accepting the order and will attempt to schedule it as production capacity allows. It still isn't a 100 percent guarantee your going to GET a truck. But it is a 100 percent guarantee Ford is going to TRY to get you a truck.

Make sense?

I never got this email from Chapman, should I have?

EDIT: I did go online at ford.com and "chat" with them. Said they can see the order.

Your dealer won't necessarily share that COVP approval with you unless you ask them for it. You don't need it, per se, but I just wanted confirmation they did it properly.

If you reach out to your sales person, he/she should be able to provide you with a copy of your COVP approval.

Good point, but minor clarification. I believe today's COVP deadline is for just Jan'22 orders that missed the Jan. cutoff, not all MY22 orders total. Or are you suggesting otherwise? I do admit that it's interesting my dealer waited to confirm the COVP until today even though it was orderd on 1/10..

I believe today is the COVP deadline for ALL orders. Granted, the vast majority of orders getting processed this week are those submitted in the final days before last week's deadline. However, I do believe there are a few dealers around the country who did not properly process their customers' orders through the COVP system at the time those orders were received months ago and are only now taking care of it. It's a shame for those folks who thought they had been standing in line for months only to find they are just now getting formal approval, but hopefully they can still squeak through.
