Update #2: Called Ford late Friday afternoon, my service rep was out for the day. The rep that took my call said they "thought it was done but can't figure out where the key or paperwork were at". Apparently they have no hand-off process for in-progress work when someone is off for the day??? Finally picked up the truck at 6pm. Road trip saved. Infotainment system does seem faster and smoother.

Update: the recall was started on Tuesday (4/22/25). Today is Friday and still no word from the dealer, despite me leaving a message for the service rep last night. We have a road trip tomorrow and this issue is going to mean we have to take our other car, an EV, so it'll add an hour each way for charging.

My Ford dealer is pretty high volume and has seemed to be in the know to correctly perform my past recalls, until this week. I took my truck in yesterday for an oil change and the back up camera recall. I started to get suspicious when I never got a call that my truck was ready, since they originally seemed to think it would be done by lunch time. I called about 5pm and was told that the "backup camera recall software installed/updated successfully but the truck's ODB no longer has connectivity". They are "working on it" and are "trying to figure out what happened and how to fix it".

I don't know if they didn't tend the battery correctly during the software patch, my truck is a 22 and has more quirks, or if it's just plain bad luck. Has anyone had this error after their backup camera patch? If so, do you know what the dealer ended up having to do to fix it and how long it took? My biggest frustration is I had an appointment tonight to get the tires replaced at Costco, and now I have no idea when I'll even have my truck back.

Mine failed to fully load. I haven’t gone back to try again.

Mine was done week ago. After doing courtesy rude home in dealers Explorer, it having big screen. Driver imputed my address, hit Directions. Wow, could see with clarity while in satellite mode.

I decided to get bold, try the USB interface in my truck, something I never did.Couldn’t do USB interconnection, and apps not displayed. Error. So back to dealer…

Servjce did a reset, scared me, worried over the camera recall mess. But eventually got phone interface connected, infotainment screen working ok. Put in directions from dealer to home, impressed of Map display and voice instructions, turn by turn. I wear a hearing aid, and sound thru truck audio better than tru my cell phone.

Happy happy.

Mine has been at ford for almost 3 weeks. I had to talk to the service manager to give me a loaner. Ridiculous.

I took the Maverick in on Monday the 28th for my 8:00am appointment for an oil change and the Camera recall, it was finally completed about 8 hours later.

😅💦
I was getting a little nervous that afternoon when I called (about 3:00pm) asking when it would be ready and they admitted they were still trying to complete the software update.

Same issue sorta happened to me. Next day after leaving truck there, I called the service writer, was told working on it. Expecting it soon, no word. Spent the night with dealer. Waited 1/2 day, then I contacted service writer. Was told tech worked the night, work is dine, waiting paperwork. Told the writer I be over in an hour (dealer is just 4.8 miles away).

I did check the reverse camera and other functions of the infotainment system. But not enough. Few days later, decided to try loading Android Auto, see if map ops up. Nothing works, apps gone from screen. Return to dealer. They did a reset, I so worried of any reset, especially after the recall downloaded. Now apps reappeared, the Android Auto linked up ok, got map on big screen.
