Has anyone thought about getting rid of the C pillar speakers and installing rear door speakers?
I am thinking:
1. run a larger speaker = better sound.
2. get the speaker away from a backseater's ear.

I thought about this several times. Not for the sound quality aspect but rather so my passengers wouldn't have music blasting directly in their ears.

I just had my rear door panels off. There is a thick sheet of plastic glued to the door frame that would need to be cut up to have a 5.25" or 6.5" speaker fit for depth and to route wires through the wiring grommet. I'm sure that that sheet of plastic is to protect the window mechanism and to potentially keep water contained behind the inner panel so it can drain out the weep holes i the bottom of the door. The speaker would need to be mounted to the interior door panel so you would need to cut that up as well to mount them. I'm not so sure I would want to do that.
